| Customer Reviews: Good machine for limited use March 11, 2010 Training Specialist 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wanted to get a visual presenter which would do the same job as the ELMO HV 5100XG, that I have been using for some time and am very pleased with, but would be lighter and more portable for multiple use applications. The ELMO P10s is not that machine.
The machine was easy to set up out of the box and the controls were not difficult to use. The unit is compact and light weight which would make it easy to move around and set up.
The zoom control on this machine is excellent. It gave me good control and was easy to understand and operate.
The single toggle button to switch between functions worked well but is a problem, for people not familiar with the machine, because there is no indication to let them know what function the next press of the button will bring up.
The single light on the P10s creates an unacceptable glare with variation in the photo prints and graphic materials that need to be used in presentations.
While I was able to get a marginal (not good) image by playing with the iris, contrast controls, and the angle on the light and camera, the iris and contrast controls seemed to give me a choice between washed out or dark image. The camera and light position gave me either glare of shadow.
The SD Card reader mode did not seem to work. It would display a blank instead of a thumb nail of the picture on the card and would not display the picture when one was selected.
This may be a good machine for a single user who does not have a lot of variation in material to be projected, and has time to play with the set up, but is not suitable as a resource for use by multiple people in different presentation applications.
